CRAIG EYLES

My work, has recently been inspired by the relationship between the land and the sea. Taking inspiration from waves, beaches and rock formations along the coast. Exploring the variety of form and layering of glazes to create textured surfaces is what I enjoy most. Each combination, however subtle or obvious, is unique with an aim of marrying together these elements to realise something that is ultimately harmonious and balanced. I create wheel thrown forms, some are composite and others are cut and altered. I also make functional ware, mugs, jugs and bowls.

I studied 3D Design Ceramics at Wolverhampton University and afterwards taught art for fifteen years in secondary education. I now teach throwing from my studio in Frome.

Find my work in A2 gallery, Wells
58 Catherine St, Frome.
